
By and large, the Chinese people see no reason to quarrel over religion and are receptive to both home grown and imported beliefs. They are able to blend different religions and even worship two or religions simultaneously.
Before important exams, the same students can often be seen burning incense in Confucian temples, Buddhist monasteries and in front of Daoist shrines. Like in other parts of the world, for some people, religion plays an important role in their while others do not.
